About Feri

I started doing yoga in my mid 20’s simply as a form of exercise.  I continually returned to my mat as a way of relieving stress and connecting to a more grounded, happy and relaxed version of myself. In the summer of 2012, I decided to take a leap of faith and enroll myself in a Yoga Teacher Training program. It was during my training when I realized that this is the path I’ve been searching for my entire life. A path that combines the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual facets of a human being and tries to elevate them through a lifetime of dedication and hard work.

It’s been several years that I have been teaching and every day my reverence and gratitude for this path increases. I have personally seen students walk into class stressed, annoyed, angry and overwhelmed. Ninety minutes later, I have watched in amazement as they walk out calm, serene, peaceful, happy and rejuvenated.

In this day and age when there's an overwhelming "quick fix" to relieve any ailment, it is incredible to see how a simple practice of breath, movement and meditation is able to keep the body and mind strong and resilient. I view yoga as an incredible gift to humanity.  Every time I teach, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to share this gift with the world.

Testimonials

“She’s attentive to each student’s needs and genuinely cares about your experience in class. She creates a really ideal balance of challenging poses and flows with mindfulness and meditation - making it less about the ‘workout’ you’re getting, and more about the holistic practice.”

— Lindsay Adams.

“I've experienced a lot of yoga classes with different leaders however I have met none that compare to Feri.  She is the person whom can sense what is missing in your life and help you get there through your yoga to help you heal.  I recommend her to anyone who is looking for something to help them heal or be a better person.”

— Carlos “Ricky” Rodriquez

Feri is the BEST yoga teacher I have ever had.  When I first went to her I was not very good at holding poses for very long and I didn't do the poses correctly. She is there to guide you and gives you individualized attention. She always makes sure you are doing the poses right and is there to correct you. Now I have more endurance and do the poses correctly. She also always pushes us to do better.  Feri makes the practice of yoga more than just physical, she makes it spiritual as well. If you go to ATMA, her outdoor studio space, it is magical and filled with art. There is the most beautiful and inspiring artwork of a mandala painted on the floor. Her playlist is also very beautiful and inspiring.

— Sheryl Benjy

“Feri develops a warm rapport with each and every one of her students. She makes each class feel like a one-on-one, regardless of how many people are actually in the class. Practicing with Feri is the highlight of my week.”

— Limor Landau

“ I am addicted to Feri's yoga class.  She is a fantastic expert/instructor--kind, sensitive, intuitive but with high expectations.  She asks if anyone has any injuries so she can give you tailored instructions.  She makes people of all levels feel both challenged and welcomed. Feri is the most empathetic, compassionate yet challenging yoga instructor I've had.”

I am a 65 years old grandma. Feri with her unique ways of teaching yoga (i.e. full explanation of each movement with a lot of individual attention and correction)  has helped me feel so good about myself. My physical body feels very flexible. I do not have any problems with my back, knees or shoulders or any joint pain (which many of my friends often complain about). My bone density test results are improving. Plus, thanks to meditation we do after yoga, now I know how to make my thoughts and my mind calm.
